The services available will depend on each practitioner’s qualifications, experience and current availability.
Service details
People may seek individual therapy for:
- •anxiety and persistent worry;
- •depression or low mood;
- •stress and burnout;
- •grief and loss;
- •trauma and difficult past experiences;
- •relationship or family difficulties;
- •workplace pressures;
- •low confidence or self-esteem;
- •identity and life direction;
- •adjustment to illness, parenthood, separation or other major changes;
- •emotional regulation;
- •feeling stuck, disconnected or overwhelmed.
You do not need to know exactly what the problem is before making an appointment.
Common areas of focus include:
- •communication difficulties;
- •recurring arguments;
- •loss of trust;
- •emotional or physical disconnection;
- •intimacy concerns;
- •parenting disagreements;
- •infidelity or relationship rupture;
- •separation or uncertainty about the future of the relationship;
- •navigating major life changes together.
The therapist’s role is not to take sides. Sessions focus on understanding the relationship and helping both partners participate safely and honestly in the process.
Support may be available for concerns including:

- •emotional regulation;
- •school stress;
- •friendship difficulties;
- •family separation or change;
- •grief and loss;
- •confidence and identity;
- •behavioural concerns;
- •adjustment to a diagnosis or health condition.
Parents and carers will generally be involved in the process, although the level of involvement will depend on the young person’s age, needs and privacy.
It may be helpful during periods of conflict, separation, illness, grief, parenting difficulty or significant family change.

Telehealth may suit clients who live outside the local area, have mobility or transport constraints, travel regularly or prefer to attend from home.
Your practitioner can discuss whether telehealth is appropriate for your circumstances.
Funding & fees
Fees, rebates and funding
Session fees vary depending on the practitioner, appointment type and length of consultation.
Where applicable:
- •Medicare — rebates may be available for eligible psychology services with a valid referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan;
- •Private health insurance — rebates may be available depending on your provider and level of cover;
- •NDIS — some practitioners may accept self-managed or plan-managed NDIS clients;
- •TAC & WorkSafe — approved TAC or WorkSafe clients may be accepted by particular practitioners.
Please contact us before booking to confirm the practitioner’s fee, available rebates and whether they can accept your particular referral or funding arrangement.
